Our time in our current space is coming to an end. Our building is being sold and the new owner will be using all suites in the building for their operations.

Our last day will be Wednesday, November 26.

However – this isn’t goodbye forever. We are actively searching for a new space to make our home. While we don’t have an exact timeline, we are looking for a new space with a larger kitchen that will allow us to bring back all your favs – housemade chips, fries, hashbrowns, and, oh yes, the lemongrass tofu.

It has been an honor to serve this community some of Portland’s tastiest sandwiches. We’d like to give a heartfelt thanks to all of you, to our current and past staff, and to our vendors for making Better Half what it is today. We hope you’ll continue to visit us until our closing day.

Thank you for all of the love and support over the years. We hope to see you all again in a new space.

When are you closing?

We are planning for our last day to be Wednesday, November 26, but timelines may change due to staffing.

Why are you closing?

Our building is being sold to Portland Public Schools and they will be using all suites in the building for their operations. We are looking for a new space to call home, but have not found the perfect fit yet. We will be spending the winter searching for our new space.

What about gift cards?

We no longer sell gift cards; however, you are still able to pay with your existing gift card. We encourage you to use your gift card as soon as possible. You will need to redeem any unused balances by our closing day. After we are closed, gift cards will no longer be valid and we will be unable to issue any refunds for unused balances.

Is there still a way for me to order sandwiches after you close the space?

We will be taking catering orders via our website, EZ Cater, and SporkBytes throughout November and December, and hopefully into winter 2026.

Are you looking for a new space?
